This article shows that this perticual district has put forth the effort to keep parents informed about all the reasearch they were doing as they look at and wrote their policy concerning the new uniform they will be requirering for the next school year.

I read this and it was a good article. I liked the way the board and superintendent gave each school an option to tweak there own uniform dress code. I liked that there was a committee of parents and school staff working together on it. I did see that there was an opt out policy where parents could exempt there children from the dress code and they still had to obey the non-uniform dress code. I am curious about the Corning Family Resource Center to facilitate purchase vouchers for families who need assistance in purchasing uniforms for students. I still want to know where money comes from to form these types of programs. Was it state funded?
